AI development tools (devkit)

devkit is an open-source toolkit that helps you build zittme extensions with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, and others) without breaking conventions. It consists of an MCP server, skills, and development guide documents.

Workflow

devkit development flow

Skills first ask about design decisions such as dark mode and menu structure, then generate a scaffold based on your answers. Finished templates go through static checks (lint_template), and the deployment tools refuse to upload if there are convention violations. The checks cover typical pitfalls that cause server errors in template v2 (multi-line comments, closures inside expressions, and so on).

Quick install of skills only

npx skills add https://github.com/zittme/devkit

To install a specific skill only, specify it like --skill make-layout.

Installing the MCP server

git clone https://github.com/zittme/devkit
cd devkit/mcp
npm install
npm run build

Registering with Claude Code:

claude mcp add zittme-devkit -- node <클론 경로>/mcp/dist/index.js

The required environment variable is ZITTME_PATH (the source path of the site you are developing). To use the deployment features, provide connection details such as DEVKIT_SFTP_HOST as environment variables. Because credentials are never written to files, there is no chance of committing them to a repository by mistake.
