Commerce module
Commerce is the module for opening an online store on zittme. It covers the whole business of selling, from products and stock, orders and shipping, and cancellations and returns to coupons and tiers. Payments are handled by the zittme Pay module.
The documentation is long, so it is split by topic. If you are new, start with Opening your store and read in order.
Where to start
| Document | When |
|---|---|
| Opening your store | From installation to selling your first product |
| Products, options, and stock | When you want to sell combinations of color and size |
| Orders, shipping, and claims | What to do after an order comes in |
| Coupons, tiers, and points | When adding discounts and building loyal customers |
| Selling overseas | When selling to other countries |
| Settings reference | When looking up what an item on the settings screen means |
The console is everything
You run your store not in the admin screen but in a dedicated screen called the commerce console. Click the Shop settings button in the bottom-right corner of your store, then choose Open store console in the panel that appears. Only people with admin rights can see it.
The console opens in a new window. The store page you were viewing stays open, so you can run the store while checking how it looks to customers.
The console dashboard has an opening checklist. If you are not sure where to start, just follow its order.
zittme Pay must be installed too
Commerce does not take money directly. Payment methods, sales currency, and refund processing are all handled by zittme Pay. If you install only Commerce, you can add products but cannot take orders.
The two modules split their roles like this.
| Commerce | zittme Pay | |
|---|---|---|
| Decides | What you sell and for how much | Which methods and currency you accept |
| Screens | Products, cart, order form | Payment window, payment result |
| Settings | Shipping fees, coupons, tiers | Payment provider keys, base currency |
The base currency is set in zittme Pay, and Commerce follows it. Product prices are also entered in that currency. For details, see the zittme Pay module documentation.
