Opening your store
These are the steps from installation to your first order. If this is your first time, following just this document will get you as far as selling one product.
1. Install the two modules
In Admin > Store, install Commerce and zittme Pay together. Commerce does not take payments itself, so without zittme Pay you cannot accept orders.
If you already installed it and upgraded to a new version, run Admin > Modules > Update Commerce once. This registers the new features in the database.
2. Create a menu
In Admin > Menu, add the commerce module as a new menu. A short address works best.
shopNow yoursite.com/shop becomes the storefront home page.
3. Turn on payments in zittme Pay
In the zittme Pay admin screen, set the base currency first. The currency you choose here becomes the base for every connected module, including Commerce. You will also enter product prices in this currency.
Then turn on the payment methods you want to use.
| Method | What you need |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Just an account number, and you can start right away |
| Toss Payments · KG Inicis · NHN KCP · NICE Payments | Keys issued after signing a contract with each provider |
| PortOne | A PortOne contract (multiple providers under one contract) |
| PayPal | A PayPal Business account |
The fastest way to start is to open with bank transfer only. Provider contracts take time, so you can accept orders by bank transfer in the meantime.
PayPal does not accept Korean won. PayPal does not appear for orders whose base currency is KRW.
4. Enter the console
On the storefront (/shop), a Shop settings button floats in the lower right. Only people with admin permission can see it. Clicking it opens a panel, and Open store console at the bottom takes you to the commerce console. All store operations happen there.
The console opens in a new window, so the storefront stays open. After making changes in the console, switch to the storefront window and refresh to see them right away.
From the panel, you can change the home layout, category arrangement, and banners directly without entering the console.
The dashboard has an opening checklist that tells you what is left to do.
5. Set shipping fees
Go to Console > Settings > Shipping · Claims. At first you only need to set two things.
- Base shipping fee — the amount added per order.
- Free shipping threshold — orders above this amount get free shipping. Set it to 0 to turn it off.
- Can you add to cart and reach the checkout page?
- Is the shipping fee added as you expected?
- Does the result page appear correctly after payment?
- Does the order show up in Console > Orders?
- To use options and combinations, see Products, options, and stock
- For what happens after an order comes in, see Orders, shipping, and claims
- If you want to know about specific settings, see the Settings reference
If you want to charge extra for remote areas or overseas delivery, see Selling overseas. You can do this later.
6. Create categories
Go to Console > Categories. You can skip this if you only have a few products, but it takes a lot of work once your catalog grows, so we recommend setting up the main groups in advance.
7. Add products
Go to Console > Products > Add. At first, filling in just these is enough to start selling.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Product name | The name customers will see |
| Price | In the base currency set in zittme Pay |
| Stock | A number. 0 shows the product as sold out |
| Main image | Used in lists and cards |
| Category | Where to place it |
If customers need to choose things like color or size, see Products, options, and stock.
8. Place a test order yourself
This matters more than opening. Place one order by bank transfer and one by card.
You can delete test orders in Console > Orders.
9. Fill in seller information
Go to Console > Settings > Seller information. This includes your business name, business registration number, address, and mail-order business report number. These values are printed on order forms and statements.
If you sell goods in Korea, the Electronic Commerce Act requires you to display this information. Fill it in before you open.
